But in some fireflies, this reflection can be reduced by the arrangement of jagged scales, which means more light is spilled and the fireflies look brighter.

Annick Bay said: We refer to the structure of the edge of the factory roof, because the top of the scales are convex and slightly inclined, a bit like the roof of the factory.
