OPTEX CO., LTD. (Tokyo: 6914) A new LED turbidity meter using the 90-degree scattered light method will be sold from the end of November. This method meets the requirements of international turbidity measurement standards.
According to the company's relevant person: The new turbidity meter adopts the measurement method that conforms to international standards. “Easy to install and easy to operate” is the concept that we give to the product. At the same time, we are also convinced that the TSC-10 Turbidimeter will make a huge contribution to overseas water management.
The TSC-10 Turbidimeter emits light (measurement light) through the LED source, which is reflected when the light encounters the surface of the suspended solids in the water. An optical sensor mounted at a 90 degree angle to the light source detects reflected light (scattered light). The turbidity is determined by the intensity of the detected light (the amount of light detected) and the density of suspended matter in the water. Compared to the attenuated light detection method used before the OPTEX turbidity meter, the 90 degree scattered light method enables a more sensitive turbidity measurement.
The main application areas include measuring the turbidity of municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater, measuring the turbidity of surface water in rivers, lakes, ponds, etc., and measuring the turbidity of cooling water used in factories and other large commercial facilities.
